BIRMINGHAM, UK—All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) chief Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad and various local Sikh leaders on Monday released the music of Punjabi film ‘Dilli 1984,’ upon which the Indian censor board formally known as Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has imposed a ban as the latter denied clearance for it.

Gurdeep Mehndi and Harry Sandhu have provided the music to the songs, and Daler Mehndi, Gurdeep Mehndi, Jasveer Jassi, Shipra Goyal, Mannu and Sukhminder Singh Hansra have given their voice to the songs.

Brithish authorities had already given a clearance certificate to this movie for its screening in England, informed Ashok Gupta, writer, director and producer of the movie which is based on 1984 Sikh genocide.

It is noteworthy that Bhai Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad has been promoting the movie. He announced that his organization would extend full support to the movie, stating that it shows the real events that took place in November 1984 in Delhi.

“Even though the movie has been banned in India, we will take it to the world and release it worldwide. At the same time, we will keep fighting with the CBFC to clear it, so that it could be released in India as well,” said Ashok Gupta.

It is worth mentioning that prior to this movie, the movies produced on the events related to 1984 have been faced a similar situation. Films like ‘Sada Haq,’ ‘Kaum de Heere,’  etc, were also banned by the Indian government.
