Sikhs Mobilize Against Construction of Sacha Sauda Cult Dera Near the Village of Sant Bhindranwale

SamalsarMOGA, Punjab—A large number of Sikhs gathered at the native village of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale at Gurdwara Sant Baba Kirpal Singh to oppose the proposed construction of a base by the Sirsa based anti-Sikh cult.

The Sacha Sauda base in village Rode has been planned to be constructed on Moga-Kotakpura Road.

Addressing the meeting, Sri Darbar Sahib Granthi, Giani Raghbir Singh Khalsa, said that dera followers have dared Sikhs by constructing there base near Gurdwara Patshahi 6, and birth place of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. He said that this is was sign of passiveness of the Sikh nation, which has allowed enemies of Panth to spread their roots in Punjab. He appealed to the Sikh youths to play an active role in stopping activities of anti-Sikh cults in Punjab.

SGPC members Jagtar Singh Rode and Sukhpreet Singh also attended the meeting and expressed fury over the construction.

In addition, Harinder Singh Rode, Captain Harcharan Singh Rode, Akali Dal 1920 leader Jathedar Buta Singh Ranseeh, Sikh Students Federation (Mehta) district president Daler Singh, Balwant Singh BudhSingh Wala, Sikh leader Darshan Singh, SAD (Badal) leader Gurjant Singh Bhutto, United Sikh Movement leader Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Congress leader Sahib Singh and other social and political leaders spoke and stressed to unite against anti-Sikh activities of the Sacha Sauda cult.  A number of local Hindu leaders were also present, who also expressed distress over the move.
