FARIDKOT, Punjab—A noted Sikh preacher and head of Panthik Sewa Lehar, Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal, who was arrested by Police on Friday, was presented today before a local magistrate at Faridkot. The magistrate ordered to send Baba Daduwal to judicial custody till September 6. Two other Sikhs, who were arrested along with Baba Baljit Singh have already been sent to judicial custody.
In the meantime, the Mansa police also approached Faridkot magistrate to get transit remand of Baba Daduwal who was sent to jail by that moment. The Mansa police was told by the court to register their plea for remand of Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal before the local court at Mansa.
It is noteworthy that Baba Daduwal is a member of newly formed Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) and active supporter of the separate committee for the Haryana state. He has played active role in the formation of the committee. So his arrest is seen as result of vendetta politics. He is paying for helping Haryana Sikh leaders in taking over certain Sikh shrines situated in the state.
