Chattisinghpora Sikh Massacre Re-investigation Sought by APSCC

MassacreSRINAGAR, Jammu and Kashmir—The All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) of Jammu and Kashmir has sought for the Chattisinghpora Sikh massacre case and the subsequent Pathribal and Brakpora incidents to be re-investigated.

The Sikh organization marked the 14th anniversary of the Chattisinghpora massacre. Its chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that the government’s failure to identify, and punish, the perpetrators of the massacre in which innocent Sikhs were killed mercilessly is surprising even after the passage of 14 years.

Exposing the government, he said that the way it has handled the case of Sikh genocide so far makes  people believe that state government knows everything, but wishes to spare the killers of the innocent people. “We have every reason to doubt the designs of the government. We demand that a sitting supreme court judge be given duty to probe the massacre,” Raina exlaimed.

“An inclusive and time-bound inquiry into the killing of 36 Sikhs at Chattisingpura is the only way to find out the truth about all the events that took place during, and after, that massacre.”
