MOHALI, Punjab—Yesterday, Giani Gurbachan Singh, appointed Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib and former DGP Shashi Kant met with Bhai Gurbakhash Singh Khalsa, whose fast unto death entered its 19th day outside the historical Gurdwara Amb Sahib.

It is notable that Giani Gurbachan Singh was facing criticism for remaining silent on the issue and not taking any notice on the great effort by Bhai Khalsa made in favour of the nation at the cost of his life. He rested the criticism for not meeting Bhai Khalsa, but he could not dare to voice against the repression of the Badal government against Sikhs—at the fear of losing his job.

Significantly, Shashi Kant said if Badal would like, he could release the Singhs within a day.

Besides the above personalities, a large number of representatives from Sikh and human rights organizations met Bhai Khalsa and showed solidarity with him.

After 18 days of fasting, Bhai Gurbakhash Singh’s health began to worsen—he looks physical weaker as compared to before however he has continued to remain in Chardi Kala.
