Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara Appeals Sikhs to Identify Their True Leaders

NEW DELHI—Babbar Khalsa Jathedar, Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara has appealed to the entire Sikh nation to identify their true leaders and vote for candidates of good character who are committed to the Sikh national cause in the forthcoming elections.

Bhai Hawara, who is presently confined in Tihar Jail (Delhi), made this appeal while addressing the media on his appearance before the Delhi court on November 9.

“In the forthcoming polls, the Sikh nation should cast their votes very consciously. Now the time has come that we should identify our good leaders,” he said.

“It is the duty of the entire nation that they should support political faces who have a national spirit and a good character instead of those who participate in dealing drugs such as alcohol and others to win the election,” he added.

Earlier, he was produced before a Delhi court under tight security arrangements. He was presented before the court of Judge Daya Parkash in the case related to F.I.R. Number 229/05, under section 307 (IPC) at the police station Alipur.

Bhai Hawara’s counsel cross-examined the witnesses for about an hour. The court has fixed the next hearing date on 12 and 13 November, 2013.
