Guramit Kalirai absconded before the trial and was given six-and-a-half-years in prison, in his absence. A warrant is now out for his arrest and Nottinghamshire Police have urged members of the public to call Notts Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they have any information.

Kalirai was arrested after a speech delivered outside Peterborough Magistrates’ Court during the EDL protest on December 11, 2010, but was later not charged. He was also interviwed a number of times on various television channels including the BBC and other media outlets.
