NEW DELHI—Sardar Iqbal Singh Bhatti started his hunger strike today in Jantar Mantar Delhi to protest Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar’s death sentence. He is determined to continue his fast until his demands are fulfilled.
Sardar Bhatti is actively involved in Sikh activities in France. He is the General Secretary of Turban Action Committee (France) and has urged the Indian Government several times to raise the turban issue with the French government.
Previously he started his 11 day hunger strike in a Paris Gurdwara on May 8 in an attempt to pressure the Indian government for Prof Bhullar’s release.
