NEW DELHI—An accused in the 1984 Sikh genocide, Sajjan Kumar’s actions led to the deaths of thousands of Sikhs—yet he was released by a court on 30 April 2013. Unable to accept this decision, Bibi Nirpreet Kaur, who tragically lost her father in the incident, decided to launch a protest against the court’s decision by sitting on an indefinite fast in Jantar Mantar Delhi. She continued with her courageous fasting and on the 6th day the Punjab government and appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, fearing the consequences of her deteriorating health, assured the fulfillment of her demands thereby making her end the fast.
But now Bibi Nirpreet Kaur is unhappy over the situation and has blamed the Akal Takht Jathedar for making her end the fast. In a recently released press note she has questioned his authority saying if he could not support her struggle , he should not have stopped her either.
Recalling her struggle she says that on the first day Arvind Kejriwal from Aam Adami Party gave her full support. This was followed by assistance from DSGMC and almost all political parties except Congress. She says that with the involvement of common people, the small protest gained momentum. The family members of genocide victims gave their full support. However, on the sixth day the appointed Akal Takht Jathedar made her end the fast saying that this form of protest was against the principles of Sikhi. He ordered her to end the fast with a glass of juice.
But today, unable to conceal her disappointment, she questions Giani Gurbachan Singh and demands answers from him.
She alleges that the decision to end the fast was forcefully imposed on her without taking her consent. The mutual approval of the 5 Singh Sahiban (council of 5 Jathedars) or the Sikh Sangat was not asked for and the hukam was imposed on her by just the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib.
Distressed over the fact, she says Giani Gurbachan Singh intervened in the matter just when she was very close to getting justice after 29 long years. She said she regrets the fact that her protest has been hindered due to false assurances by Jathedar. According to her, his actions have proven to be a setback for the Sikh community.
Dear Jas ji, I am really shocked to lean that Giani Gurbachan Singh does not respect Guru Granth Sahib. Kindly provide me any evidence just my knowledge? If its true and have any evidence then we all Sikhs and Sikh Panth should take action to get him removed from that highest seat.

Giani Gurbachan Singh visited Fremont Sikh Temple in 2011 and received honor of Five Singhs that is only and PURELY authorized to Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. After observing by me and pointed out by others, Giani Gurbachan Singh continue inside congregation Hall in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Was not disrespect for Guru Granth Sahib Ji?
Neither Fremont Gurdwara management apologize nor the Five Singhs who disrespected Guru Granth Sahib Ji. We Sikhs have lost integrity and faith in Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teaching hence always find some kind of excuses as shamelessly we are collecting funds from congregation but not accountable.

Dear Jas ji, I 100% respect your sentiments regarding injustice happening towards Sikhs since 1947. I was living in Amritsar and witness the drama when these corrupt Akali Leaders like Master Tara Singh and Sant Fateh Singh did hunger strike then broke without achieving their demands and tried to make all Sikhs fool. Pheruman then died with his hunger strike and slapped on the faces of these corrupt Akali leaders. I still believe that why we had let our respected sister Nirpreet Kaur to be died who was one of the strongest eye witnesses against this dog Sajjan Kumar. I also still believe that we all Sikhs MUST give our full respect to Akal Takhat and Jathedar regardless who the person is. By disrespecting the Jathedar we disrespect Akal Thakhat. As far as I know no Muslims speak against Immam of Makkah. Why we Sikhs speak against Akal Takhat Jathedar?

Giani Gurbachan Singh does not respect “GURU GRANTH SAHIB”. Nirpreet Kaur being educated must understand Giani Gurbachan Singh ethics, knowledge, goals, how he got appointed Akal Takhat Jathedar? It sounds confusion that she follow the Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale in parallel she obey Sikh Religion Enemy. Alal Takhat Jathedar would have not accepted FIVE SINGHS honor in 2011 at Fremont Gurdwara, California, if he knew his own Authorities, Entitlements, Perks and Powers. Actually, the congress party wanted Nirpreet Kaur to die on her own accord by hunger strike because then there would not be a witness when Sajjan Kumar’s case goes to High or Suprem Courts. Akali leaders showed their cleverness and asked Nirpreet Kaur to stay alive. Dear Sikh brothers please try to understand the concept of breaking Nirpreet Kaur’s Hunger Strike by respected Akal Takhat Jathedar.

I have much more experience with Jathedars Since Master Tara Singh, who was threatening with hunger strike, went on fast few times and now fast is consider against Sikh rules.
