Sikh Organizations to Enter Genocide Petition to UN in 2013

AMRITSAR SAHIB—An Akhand Path Sahib was recently organized at the Gurdwara Jhanda Bunga Sahib situated in Sri Akal Takath Sahib compound in the memory of victims of November 1984 anti Sikh genocide.  Numerous Sikh organizations across the spectrum and Sangat took part in Akhand Path Sahib to pay respects on the anniversary of November 1984 Delhi Genocide.

The program was attended by former Akal Takath Sahib Jathedar,  Singh Sahib Giani Puran Singh and Giani Jagtar Singh, Granthi of Sri Harimandir Sahib as well as AISSF President Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, Bibi Jagdish Kaur – primary witness in Sajjan Kumar case, Bhai Kulwinder Singh, Harbans Singh Mali – Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, Assistant Manager Bhai Sukhdev Singh and the whole staff of SGPC were present.

On this sordid day of November 1984, Jagmohan Singh, Gurwinder singh , Mohan Singh, Ajit Singh, Kashmir Singh and several of the victims families say that whenever the month of November comes, they are reminded of the blood curdling  acts which members of their families were mercilessly killed , their daughters and sisters raped, and their houses burnt down.  They have been waiting for the past 28 years for justice, and have yet to see any signs of it.

At this program, leading members of AISSF and Sikh For Justice both took an oath to file a Genocide petition with U.N. in 2013. They feel that going to courts has not proven fruitful in bringing to justice persons whom orchestrated violence against Sikhs and are now praying  before Sri Akal Takath Sahib for the victims of November 1984, and will be working towards entering a Genocide Petition to UN in 2013 for the long awaited justice.
