Rajasthan Tense as Suraj Muni Dera Chief is Brought to Justice

GANGANAGAR, Rajasthan—The situation is tense in the village Pilibanga of Ganganagar in Rajasthan, where three Singhs have brought head of Suraj Muni dera sect to justice.  The head of the Rajasthan based dera was responsible for the desecration of multiple Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.  This past February, Sikh Sangat living worldwide was shocked when Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji were removed from a sack floating in the river while two other Saroops were found stacked on floor.  The Saroops in sack had been desecrated – multiple Angs had been torn and ripped.

According to news sources, Bhai Naginder Singh (Sehna, Punjab), Bhai Gursevak Singh (Dhoolkot, Punjab) and Bhai Nirmal Singh (Kharlia, Rajasthan) arrived at the dera around 10 AM and brought the culprit to justice.  He was given the same punishment as he had done to discrete the Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Local authorities of Ganganagar were also said to be exhausted of the dera’s working however due to his large following, no action could be taken to stop the illegal activities of the dera chief.  The Suraj Muni dera was constructed illegally over Government land and the dera chief had acted in ways that were against the law.  After the incident in February, he was arrested for playing with sentiments of the Sikh community.  Apparently, the dera chief confessed to all his crimes.  He had been released on bail just 10 days ago.

After the beheading, the three Singhs turned themselves into the police and confessed their involvement in the killing of Suraj Muni dera chief.  The situation is still tense in Ganganagar as the entire dera has turned to the Rajasthan police.  Sikh Sangat is still present in large numbers at the local police station.
