Inquiry Sought by Jathedar Hawara in Foiled Attack Case

Bhai Hawara can be seen thrashing activist of Suraksha Samiti

NEW DELHI—Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara has sought a legal inquiry into the foiled asault attempt by “Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti” (ABHSS) terrorists this past month outside the Chandigarh Court Complex. According to S. Navkiran Singh, legal counsel, Bhai Hawara has alleged that the foiled attack was well planned and carried out under the supervision of Punjab and UT Police.

On November 11, 2011, five men belonging to the Hindutva terrorist organization tried to attack Bhai Hawara after shouting pro-Hindutva slogans. Bhai Hawara was quick to intercept as he slapped one of the terrorists from the Hindutva organization straight in face.

After the incident, Bhai Hawara wrote a letter to the Sikh Nation and relayed that Hindutva activists would have never been allowed near him unless they had the support of the Police. On the day of the attack, police were present in abundance along with many media outlets who captured the foiled attack on camera. It is beyond any doubt that the Police was also involved in the incident.

According to S. Navkiran Singh, the ABHSS had organized a press conference in Ludhiana on October 22 seeking to blockade Bhai Hawara’s court hearings in Chandigarh. During the press conference, the right wing Hindutva and pro-Shiv Sena extremists had declared that  they will carry out attacks on Sikh Freedom Fighters. From the past several months, Delhi Police administration has been requesting that Bhai Hawara and Bhai Bheora’s court hearings be held via a video conference system instead of them being transported to Chandigarh every time for the hearings.
