412th Martyrdom Anniversary: 100 Sikh Pilgrims Departs for Pakistan

ATTARI—A ‘jatha’ of 100 Sikh pilgrims, who had applied through Bhai Mardana Ji Memorial Society and SAD (Delhi) leader Paramjit Singh Sarna, today departed from Attari Railway Station to mark 412th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji at Gurdwara Sri Dehra Sahib (Lahore).

It is pertinent to note here that the Pakistan Embassy had denied visas of 81 Sikh pilgrims who had applied through SGPC. Two pilgrims from the SGPC’s ‘jatha’ sent on Vaisakhi celebrations had gone missing in Pakistan. One of them had surrendered before the Pakistan police and was deported back to India while another woman pilgrim Kiran Bala got married there.

Sikh24 has learnt that out of the total 100 Sikh pilgrims, 69 had applied through Bhai Mardana Ji Memorial Society while 31 belongs to Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi).
