Police Remand of Sikh Youths Arrested After Accident Extended for Four Days

FARIDKOT—Sikh youths Sandeep Singh and Amar Singh, who were held by the police after an accident on May 10, were presented in the local Court of Faridkot on May 14 following three days remand. On the request of police, the Court extended remand of the duo Sikh youths for further four days while deferring next hearing onto May 18.

Sharing the development with media, the Faridkot’s Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Nanak Singh claimed that the duo Sikh youths might reveal important information during next days.   

It may be recalled here that the Faridkot police had arrested two Sikh youths namely Sandeep Singh and Amar Singh on May 10 by accusing them of being members of a “terror module”. The police had claimed of having recovered two pistols and 40 cartridges from the duo Sikh youths.

The Faridkot SSP Dr Nanak Singh had claimed that the duo Sikh youths were provided the weapons to carry out targeted killings assigned to them by their handlers. The duo Sikh youths were indicted under Sections 17, 18, 19, 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act.
