Langah Sex Tape: Woman Withdraws Rape Accusations Against Akali Leader

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In a dramatic move today, the woman who had once accused the former Akali minister Sucha Langah of forceful adultery, withdrew rape accusations against him. Reverting from her previous statement, she told the court of additional district and sessions Judge Prem Kumar that she was pressurized to make accusations against Langah by the Police cops who were working in collusion with some politicians.

Furthermore, she has also denied being in the video that went viral before the parliamentary by-poll in October. The woman has also accused the police of making her sign blank papers, which she claimed were then used to defame her.

After recording the statement of woman, the court deferred next hearing to March 12.

On being contacted by media, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) supervising the Langah case has asked to give comment only after going through statement of the woman.

On the condition of anonymity, a Police official has informed that the victim woman had first moved an application before the SSP that she was raped and the SSP had asked the DSP (City) to inquire into the allegations. “To strengthen her case, she not only recorded her statement under section 164 of Indian Penal Code in front of the judge but also handed over a video to the SSP to substantiate her claims. It was only after her allegations were found to be true that a case was registered under section 376 of Indian Penal Code (Rape Charges) against Langah,” he added.
