PATIALA, Punjab—Speaking with Sikh24 on October 11, SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar informed that the SGPC has decided to honour four Sikh Intellectuals for their contribution in Sikh and Punjabi literature.
He added that two Sikh Intellectuals will be selected for cash reward worth Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 41,000 from age groups of 25 to 40 and 40 to 50.
Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar further informed that the SGPC will also honour two International Sikh players during the Khalsa Sports Meet 2017 to be held from October 14 to 16 at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. He added that the SGPC will also honour six winners of Sports meet with cash reward worth Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 22,000.
“We are really excited about these developments and we hope these awards will boost morale of the Sikh youth,” said Prof. Badungar. “We hope to carry out similar initiatives in future and continue highlighting achievements of Sikh intellectuals and sports players.”
