Captain Amarinder Singh also announced to hold a state level program at Gurdwara Saragarhi situated in the Ferozepur district.
“All Public and Government institutions will remain closed on September 12”, he said.
Saragarhi was a small village in the border district of Kohat, situated on the Samana Range, in present-day Pakistan. The British Indian contingent comprised of 21 Sikhs of the 36th Sikhs (now the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment), who were stationed at an army post attacked by around 10,000 Afghans. The Sikhs, led by Havildar Ishar Singh, chose to fight to the death, in what is considered by some military historians as one of history’s greatest last-stands.
Yes we need to fight every war which is in our Interest and protects our family ,children and way of life.
It is silly to fight some one else wars.
As if we don’t have enough of our own wars to fight that you go fighting other people wars.
who’s fighting other people’s wars? They were in charge of India at that time…now it’s your friends….should the people/army not fight for the Indian government now?
It’s celebrating the bravery of men who took inspiration from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. That’s reason enough…… you’re Right Wing Hindu Fundamentalist Terrorist friends will NOT be happy. ha ha haaaaaaa. Where’s the other friend Hashish Sharma-Khan?
Why should we celebrate Saragarhi.
It was an Imperialist Expedition .
Why do we need certification from Britishers for our Bravery .
Awesome. Exactly my thoughts
