UK: World War Memorial Statue To Be Unveiled at Khalsa Science Academy Primary School in Leeds

LEEDS, UK—A World War Memorial statue will be unveiled at the Khalsa Science Academy (KSA) Primary School  in Leeds.  Unveiling ceremony is open to the public.

 

The ceremony will take place on Saturday March 11, 2017. 

“Over sixteen million people died worldwide and Khalsa must remember all those who served in the wars. We therefore wish to pay tribute to one example of such bravery, to a soldier named Captain Ishar Singh,” a press release issued by KSA stated.

“Captain Ishar Singh, who fought in both the First World War and the Second World War, was awarded the Victoria Cross by His Majesty the King for most conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty, on the 10th April 1921. “
