Sikh Spiritual Scamster Caught In Brampton

BRAMPTON, Ontario, Canada—Darshan Dhaliwal of Ontario, Canada, has been charged with defrauding a member of the Sikh community of over $60,000 dollars after winning her confidence in faking a closeness with God.

He informed her that he had won the lottery, which indeed he had, in 2012, as he was a regular player of the Lotto Max lottery draws. He went on to convince her of his luck due to his high spirituality, before asking her for the large some of money so that he could bury it to ward off evil spirits.

When he hadn’t returned with her money and other belongings, the victim contacted the police, who subsequently located and arrest him. He was also later fined for failing to appear before a court session.

The police are appealing to anyone else who be have been defrauded by the same man, to contact them immediately.

    • I wish that were the case brother. But sadly these pretend Sikhs have become entrapped in the lure of money, greed and deception.

      • You are an RSS troll deliberately trying to defame the Sikhs ‘Rreasonable Soul’. This story has nothing to do with Hindus but with a man dressed up in daardi and turban (not a dastaar) to befool gullible people who should know better. What was his victim also supposedly a Sikh believing in ‘evil spirits’ for? All these babas and god men – this superstitious hangover that the Gurus threw away and no Sikh should be believing in such stupid things. Both the criminal here and unfortunately his witless victim are examples of what happens in a Gurdawara when Guru Granth Sahib and his Gurbani are ignored.
