ROPAR, Punjab—A Sikh youth named Harmeet Singh of Ropar assembly constituency was reportedly thrashed by Akali workers related to Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema when he questioned Cheema about the failure of the Shiromani Akali Dal led Punjab government in unearthing the culprits behind state-wide desecration incidents.
Harmeet Singh was badly thrashed at village Lodhimajra when Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema was campaigning for assembly polls.
Irked over the incident, a large number of villagers staged a sit-in-strike at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Garden and lodged a complaint with Returning Officer Udaydeep Singh Sidhu this morning.
Speaking to Sikh24, Harmeet Singh informed that he was attending Dr. Cheema’s election in Lodhimajra.
“When Cheema asked the audience to raise questions if they have any, I questioned about the failure of Punjab government in tracing and nabbing the desecration culprits as well as Police cops responsible for murdering two innocent Sikh youths at Behbal Klan,” Harmeet Singh told Sikh24.
Harmeet Singh further informed that the Akali supporters of Cheema started manhandling and brutally thrashed him. “They pushed me out of the venue for simply asking a question,” he alleged.
On being contacted by Sikh24, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema refuted the allegations of thrashing Harmeet Singh; however, he admitted that Harmeet was forced to leave venue. He claimed that his political rivals were planting such miscreants to disturb his campaign.
That just about sums up the behaviour of basal puppets and chamcha in particular has ego dripping out of him. These gadars of the panth who will be known as that in sikh history.
Why RSS Harinder does not call for immediate arrest of these ‘law breakers’ engaging in violent behaviour to a constituent just asking a question? Normally RSS Harinder talks of votes being the way to change matters but here the voter is beaten up brutally just for asking a question.
