AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Giving up the idea of contesting the election against CM Parkash Badal from the Lambi assembly segment, Ardasia Balbir Singh has now announced to extend his support to AAP’s candidate Jarnail Singh who is in a direct fray against Badal. Ardasia Balbir Singh has said that he has taken this decision on the advice of Sikh masses.
He has said that he would support as well as campaign for AAP candidate Jarnail Singh as his sole mission is to see Badal out of power.
It may be recalled here that Ardasia Balbir Singh had shared a video message for Sikh sangat few days back in which he had expressed a will to contest the election against CM Badal from Lambi assembly constituency. Seeking suggestions from worldwide Sikh masses, he had said that he would make a firm decision within two days.
Ardasia Balbir Singh came into limelight when he denied a ‘Siropao’ to Chief Minister Parkash Badal when he went to Sri Harmandir Sahib to pay obeisance in July, 2016. It was a great embarrassment for the Badal, following which the Ardasia Balbir Singh was transferred to Machhiwara by SGPC. However, Ardasia Balbir Singh had refused to follow the transfer orders and had said that he would prefer to quit his service. In December 2016, Ardasia Balbir Singh was reinstated by the newly elected SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar.
