CHANDIGARH, Punjab—In reply to the allegations about receiving a bribe during his tenure as Punjab’s AAP Convenor, Sucha Singh Chhotepur held a press conference in Chandigarh on August 26. Addressing the media, Chhotepur said that his own colleagues have conspired to frame him. He said that his opponents are blaming him of receiving Rs. 200,000 from AAP supporters, however, senior AAP members sold a single ticket for Rs. 2,000,000 for 2017’s assembly polls. He said that he never received a single penny from the party and was managing the operating expenses himself or from his supporters.

Blaming the AAP’s national convener, Durgesh Pathak, for the current situation, Chhotepur said that Durgesh doesn’t want the Punjabis to dominate the party within Punjab. He added that Durgesh always conspires to corner the local Punjabi leaders of AAP within Punjab.

On being asked whether he will resign from the party if the allegations against him prove to be right, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that he won’t resign himself as he has given two and half years to erect the party within Punjab brick by brick. He also added that the AAP’s national leadership didn’t listen to his side.

Making a shocking revelation about Kejriwal, Sucha Singh Chhotepur said that Kejriwal asked him to claim responsibility of superimposing the AAP’s broom on the Youth manifesto. He added that he might be excommunicated from the Sikh religion if he admits it but Kejriwal was not bothered by it.
