High Court Grants Temporary Bail to Jathedar Amrik Singh Ajnala

amrik_singh_ajnalaCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Acting on a petition filed by Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib (appointed by ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’) Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, the Punjab & Haryana High Court yesterday granted him temporary bail for 12 days. He has been granted bail till 24 February and he would have to present himself before Jail authorities on February 24.

Justice M.S Bedi granted him bail considering his heart problem.  DSP of Amritsar was ordered by the High Court to present report about the illness of Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala. After getting the report, the Punjab & Haryana High Court yesterday granted bail to Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala.

It may be recalled here that all the organizers of ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’ and the Takht Jathedars appointed by ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’ were indicted in sedition charges by the Punjab government. United Akali Dal’s President Bhai Mohkam Singh and General Secretary Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda had succeeded in getting bail from Punjab & Haryana High Court while cases of other activists are still under consideration of Session judge of Amritsar. Bail plea of Bhai Papalpreet Singh was rejected by the Session Judge of Amritsar that paved way for him to move application to the High Court.
