Khadoor Sahib bypoll: Independent Candidate Baldeep Singh targets SAD (B) for ‘nepotism’

KHADOOR SAHIB, Punjab—Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dissident and noted Gurbani exponent Bhai Baldeep Singh, who is contesting Khadoor Sahib bypoll as an independent candidate, on Friday stated that the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) had set another example of ‘nepotism’ by fielding MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura’s son Ravinder Singh Brahmpura for the bypoll.

In a press statement issued here, Bhai Sahib alleged that the SAD (B) was suffering from the disease of ‘nepotism’. “When I announced to contest the bypoll, the SAD (B) scared of my decision and with immediate effect, Parkash Badal organized Sangat Darshan in the segment and announced as much as Rs. 34 crore for various development projects to woo voters. But, ironically, not a single penny was allotted to its schools and hospitals. After being elected, I will ensure the proper use of this grant.”

He added that the SAD (B) government was also scared of anger prevailed amongst youth against incumbency.

Meanwhile, along with Swaraj Lehar leader Yoginder Yadav who is backing him in the election, Bhai Baldeep Singh today paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib and launched election campaign.
