Appointed Jathedars Refuse to Meet with Sangat; Forced to Live in Hiding After Pardoning Gurmeet Ram Rahim

Sri Akal Takht SahibAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Local Sikh sangat of villages across Punjab and neighboring states have started expressing their disagreement with Jathedars’ move of pardoning Gurmeet Ram Rahim.  Sikh24 has learnt that numerous local Sikh Jathas from villages across Punjab are continuously paying homage at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib to urge Jathedars to restore to earlier status towards Gurmeet Ram Rahim.

Sikh24 has been trying to reach Giani Mal Singh and Giani Gurmukh Singh however both have switched off their mobile phones.  While speaking with a Sikh Jatha who visited Sri Akal Takht Sahib, we were told that Giani Gurbachan Singh’s phone is on, however  his assistants, who attend the calls, are not giving appointment to any Sikh Jathas.

The Jatha handed over a memorandum to Giani Gurbachan Singh’s secretary, as they were unable to meet with the Jathedar despite multiple attempts.
