CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Earlier today, a peaceful demonstration was held by the Chandigarh youth outside the Neelam Theater in Sector-17 to express solidarity with Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s cause and hunger protest.  Youth got together for a candle light vigil as they also performed Chaupai Sahib and Mool Mantar Jaap.  Similar protests have continued to take place around Punjab since Bapu Ji was last detained.  Bapu Ji’s son, S. Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi was also present at the vigil.

Despite the issuance of a notice by the High Court to the Punjab government and the PGI Administration, the authorities have continued Bapu Surat Singh’s isolated detention and force feeding in the Advanced Cardiac Department of the PGI Chandigarh. Bapu Ji’s son Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi was today also denied permission to meet with Bapu Ji by the Jagraon CIA-in-charge Wariam Singh.

Expressing worry about Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, Ravinderjit Singh Gogi told Sikh24 that the government is planting rumours that Bapu Ji is in Chardi Kala and able to roam around his ward freely.

Disagreeing with the rumours, Bhai Gogi asserted, “this would impossible as the doctors were saying 9 days ago that his bones could fracture if touched with applied pressure. So how then could we believe that he is roaming inside his ward?”  Instead, expressing deep worry about the well-being of Bapu Ji, he suspected that his health might be in danger due to the forceful injection of medicines inside his body.

“We don’t know whether he is on ventilator or in some other worse condition,” he added.  Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi last met his father 3 days ago.
