CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Speaking about their upcoming movie ‘Jinda-Sukha’ in Jalandhar, producer Darshan Singh and director Sukhjinder Singh stated that their new movie manifests the atrocities committed by the state on the Sikhs, along with the injustices delivered by the court. They said that a number of well received artists are starring in the movie, namely Sonpreet Jawanda, Nav Bajwa and Eesa Sharma.
Director Sukhjinder Singh told that real events and incidents from the life of Bhai Jinda-Sukha have been presented in the movie.
He also informed that most of the movie was shot in the village Gadli (Bhai Jinda’s native village), Fatehgarh Sahib, Karanpur (Rajasthan) and Pune. He maintained that movie contains six songs sung by renowned Punjabi singers.
“Jinda-Sukha” is based on the true life story of two great martyrs in the 20th century Sikh history Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Sukhdev Singh Sukha, known for their high profile acts of bravery. This movie is based on Jinda and Sukha’s letters which are already available in text form. Jinda and Sukha were sentenced to death for assassinating former Indian Army Gen Arun Kumar Sridhar Vaidya for commanding army to attack on Darbar Sahib (Amritsar) in June 1984. Bhai Jinda and Sukha repeated history and proved that the Sikh spirit of the past is still alive
