Bhai Ranjit Singh had also played a key role in campaigning for a few individuals in the previous DSGMC polls as well.  He rallied to defeat Paramjit Sarna, who he labelled as a “traitor” to the Khalsa Panth.

Bhai Ranjit Singh has ruled out possibility of taking direct help from the Aam Aadmi Party in the elections.  He has stated that only Panthik-minded gursikhs should contest Gurdwara elections.  Aam Aadmi Party played an eminent role in transfer of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar from Delhi to Punjab.  It had also demanded a Special Investigative Team to probe the anti-Sikh genocide of 1984.

Bhai Ranjit Singh is a respectable Sikh leader, however in the past few years, he has remained distanced from taking up Sikh issues directly
