Using My Name for Promotion of Movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is Unfair: Akal Takhat Jathedar

 Nanak ShahAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sri Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has stated that using his name for promotion of controversial Hindi movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ is totally unfair. Jathedar’s clarification has increased problems for the team of the film.

Talking to media persons, the Jathedar said that he appreciated the project of this film at initial stage in routine but his name or that of Akal Takht Sahib could not be used for promotion which violate basic principles of Sikh religion and commit disrespect of Guru Nanak Sahib. He directed Harinder Sikka, maker of the film, to stop using his name with immediate effect.

It is noteworthy that in promotion trailer of the film, it is being screened on youtube that the Jathedar has approved the film for which he offer thanks to him. The Jathedar denied all these things.  

Meanwhile, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has also sought ban on the movie full of blasphemy against Sikh religion in its executive meeting held in Chandigarh.
