Holla Mohalla Conference: Akali Dal (Badal) numbers dip significantly

Akali conference 2SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab—Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) political conference had a thinner attendance in comparison to previous years which is a clear indication of erosion of its base.

The SAD (B) conference was addressed by party pattern and Chief Minister Parkash Badal, party president Sukhbir Badal, Education Minister Daljeet Cheema and MP Prem Chandumjara.

Showering praise on the Modi government, Badal said the Union Budget had given Punjab enough funds to up the tempo of development in the state.  The Punjab Chief Minister also hailed the Centre’s decision to scrap the “archaic” Planning Commission and replace it with “progressive” NITI Aayog.

Badal said Akali Dal’s stand on federalism was vindicated after the Centre decided to raise states’ share in Central taxes to 42% from 32%. “The states can now implement their programmes and schemes intended for overall development and welfare of the people,” he said.

  1. This is a good sign of the beginning of the end for the Badal regime.

Hopefully, the people of Punjab will vote them out of power in 2017 and a new, corruption-free party can take over and rebuild The Land of Five Rivers. Punjab will once again be the greatest land on Earth!

  2. Truly frustrating that such fake sikhs ruling punjab, who have no discipline with body fat as with Sukhbir, or respect for Gurbani to remove Gem Jathedar from SGPC, and so much corruption, atrocities again Gurmukh Sikhs, including Operation Bluestar
