Damandeep Singh Khalsa Continues Protest In Police Custody

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Bhai Damandeep Singh Khalsa, who is still imprisoned in Ludhiana has been on hunger strike for 3 days.  He was arrested along with a number of other Sikhs when police put Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa on detention 5 days ago.  Bhai Damandeep Singh is protesting against the wrongful detention of Ravinder Jeet Singh “Gogi” and Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.  Ravinder Jeet Singh is Bapu Surat Singh’s son from California, USA.

Bhai Damandeep Singh Khalsa came into the limelight during the Amb Sahib morcha when he organized protest marches from Ludhiana to Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali, in favour of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh.  Bhai Damandeep Singh also went on hunger strike during the Amb Sahib morcha after Bhai Gurbaksh Singh was arrested by the police.  He however remained distanced from the Lakhnaur Sahib morcha.

Bhai Damandeep Singh has condemned the arrest of Ravinder Jeet Singh “Gogi”, stating that Bapu Ji’s son was arrested without reason.  He will continue hunger strike to seek release of Bhai Gogi from prison.
