It should be remembered that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa was put under “home arrest” shortly after Bhai Gurbaksh Singh (Haryana) ended his hunger strike.  He was later forcibly transferred to the Ludhiana Civil Hospital where he is currently confined to 24 hour “virtual arrest”.

A renowned professor and former IAS officer, Gurtej Singh, has expressed deep worry about the deteriorating physique of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Talking to the correspondent of Sikh24, Gurtej Singh greatly appreciated the struggle of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. He said that Bapu Ji has always remained steadfast for the Panth with a sense of responsibility.

Gurtej Singh told Sikh24 that he tried to request Bapu Ji to not commence hunger strike, however, Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa remained firm to his path.  Gurtej Singh said that he has known Bapu Ji since 1977, and the 40 years of his experience says that Bapu Surat Singh will fulfill his commitments for the Panth.
