Bhai Khalsa Gives a Call for Sikhs to Demonstrate with Black Flags on Jan 7

AMBALA, Haryana—For the permanent release of Sikh political prisoners, the hunger strike of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa has entered its 53rd day and the health condition of Bhai Khalsa remains very critical. In spite of that, the government has given no indication so far of taking a step towards considering the demands of Bhai Khalsa.

However, in view of his critical health condition, the health department and police administration are vigilant. The administration has deployed a health worker and ambulance permanently at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib where the hunger strike is being observed.

Bhai Khalsa’s press secretary Bhai Gurpreet Singh Guri said though the health of Bhai Khalsa is in an alarming state, he is firm on his stand. He has given a call to people to hold a peaceful demonstration with black flags in order to energize the struggle and submit memorandums to the nearest concerned officers on Jan 7, demanding release of Sikh political prsisoners languishing in various jails of India despite having completed their terms.
