JAMSHEDPUR, India—Today, the All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF) unit of Jharkhand filed a petition in a local court against the Sikh Genocide culprits.

President Satnam Singh Gambhir (AISSF) and Bibi Balwinder Kaur, relatives of Sikhs who were killed during the anti-Sikh pogroms in Jharkhand, stated that the court has taken a legal notice of their petition.

Gambhir told Sikh24 that a bench of Justice Virendra Singh and Justice D.N. Patel has started processing the petition legally. Sikh Federation leaders expressed deep grief that the victims of 1984 Sikh Genocide still haven’t been compensated or rehabilitated.

In November 1984, scores of Sikhs across various cities in India were brutally murdered by Government organized mob after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.  So far, no Government official has been sentenced, despite there being credible evidence against many senior ranking officials.
