Bhai Gurmeet Singh Released from Burail Jail

AJITGARH, Punjab—Bhai Gurmeet Singh, connected with Beant Singh assassination case, today, got released from Burail Jail on parole.  He was released after being lodged in jail for over 19 years.

Meanwhile, Giani Gurbachan Singh, appointed Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Giani Mal Singh, Jathedar Sri Keshgarh Sahib, approached Bhai Gurbakhash Singh and kept on inveigling him whole day on the issue of release of Sikh political prisoners.

Bhai Khalsa, however, has announced that he would end his hunger strike at Sri Akal Takht sahib tomorrow evening after the release of other two Singhs namely Bhai Shamsher Singh and Bhai Lakhwinder Singh.

At Gurdwara Amb Sahib, from morning to evening, both Jathedars held several talks with Bhai Gurbakhash Singh whose fast unto death entered 42nd day.  His discussions with jathedars were not going anywhere as Jathedars kept insisting him to break fast.  Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa warned them that he would stop taking water if the Jathedars continued to press him to break fast without doing anything for the release of Singhs.

On the other hand, Bhai Gurmeet Singh reached Gurdwara Amb sahib and met Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa and Jathedars.
