Baba Daduwal Faces Life Threat from Sirsa Based Cult

BATHINDA, Punjab—Baba Baljeet Singh Daduwal was cornered by the police near Thermal Power Plant when he was on his way to watch the Punjabi film Sadda Haq. The police officials seized two licensed revolvers from him and carried out a thorough search of his vehicles.

In his defense, Baba Daduwal said that he carried the weapons as he faced a grave threat to his life from the Head of Dera Sirsa. He alleged that the Punjab Government along with the cult leader of Dera Sirsa were conspiring to kill him.

Baba Daduwal had earlier demanded security in a rally held near village Raike Kalan, however he was denied that on the grounds that he carried licensed weapons. He alleged that now with the seizure of his weapons his life was under grave danger.

Meanwhile the SSP claimed to have collected his weapons due to the elections in Punjab. But Baba Daduwal denies this claim saying that the elections had already concluded when his weapons were collected.

He alleged that the police force harassed him for one hour and treated him like a criminal.
