Through Guru-orientation, one who practises the most excellent deed of cherishing Truth, that person’s doubts, fears and false assumptions are banished. – Guru Arjan Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 781

Message: The most excellent action, the verse says, is to enshrine Truth in our heart. When we fill ourselves with emotions of truth and love, our minds blossom forth with spiritual knowledge and wisdom.

In the light of higher spiritual awareness and understanding, when we cherish truth and conduct ourselves truthfully, our false notions, doubts and fears are overcome. Our heart is filled with spiritual joy. We feel contented and satisfied.

And when we have contentment and truthfulness guiding our lives, there is every likelihood that we would be calmer and peaceful too. Why wait then? Let us take a step today to be truth-oriented.

It does not require many words to speak the truth. -Chief Joseph, leader of the Nez Perce, a Native American tribe, 1840-1904
