One who is attached to the feet of the Guru (Gurbani) has one’s mind and body calmed and soothed. One’s delusion is eliminated from within and fear runs away. – Guru Amar Das, Guru Granth Sahib, 1061

Message: Listen. Read. Understand. What is next? This is what we did when in school. You may remember the math’s skills that we all learned in school. So next, practice makes perfect.

Spiritual learning is no different. The whole purpose of reading Gurbani is for us to understand and practise its spiritual formulas in everyday life. We can start with simple and easy lessons that we can apply in our daily behaviour and interactions.

The practice of the knowledge acquired, helps us overcome our doubts and fears. As we practise the wisdom contained in Gurbani, our mind will be calmed, soothed and upbeat. We will experience inner peace, tranquility, and enthusiasm for good deeds.

Since everything is a reflection of our minds, everything can be changed by our minds. – Buddha

Etymology: From Sanskrit sheetal (cold, cool) → Pali seetal.
