LUDHIANA, Punjab—The protest previously slated on March 3 at Jantar-Mantar for release of Sikh political prisoners by various Panthik organizations has been postponed. Now, it will be held on March 9.

The protest will be staged in wake of struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is sitting on hunger strike since Jan 16.  Protest has been called separately by supporters of Bapu ji.  Many have felt the need to organize protests centered around Ludhiana and other places in Punjab.

In a press release issued by Bhai Satnam Singh Manawan, Bhai Kanwarpal Singh and Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema on behalf of the organizations, it was told that central government did not give permission for the protest timely, so the protest is being postponed.

The Panthik leaders also made an appeal to Sikh Sangat to ensure their participation in the protest which will start on 11 A.M. They strongly condemned the move of Police of not allowing anyone to meet Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa and warned to move Court in this regard.

They termed ban on ‘Vangar March’ as grave violations of human rights.
