Two Sikh Men Kidnapped at Gunpoint in Pakistan

pakistan-mapDI Khan, Pakistan—Two Sikh men who were in DI Khan for business were kidnapped along with two of their employees near Dera Town on Daraban Road.

According to the police, Sukhwindar Singh, Anand Singh and the two other men were abducted on Tuesday evening by unidentified men within the limits of Daraban police station. They said Sukhwindar, Anand, Amjad and Arsalan Muhammad were travelling in a car when they were stopped by the kidnappers. The four men were held at gunpoint and asked to make space for them in the car. After driving a little further, the kidnappers asked the men to vacate the vehicle. They were then taken to an unknown location by the abductors.

The police said they did not know where the men were but hope that it would be made clear after an investigation is carried out. A police official said the incident took place at 6:30pm when Sukhwindar and Anand, who are also cousins, were on their way to DI Khan city. The police reached the scene of crime soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. They conducted a search operation as well, but the kidnappers had managed to escape.

Sukhwindar and Anand often visit DI Khan to sell natural medicine. It is said that they had a shop in DI Khan’s Chowdwan village.

They are originally based in Namak Mandi’s Juggan Shah Mohallah in Peshawar. Amjad is from Gujar Garhi, Mardan and Arsalan Muhammad hails from Lari Adda, Bakar – both were employed by the cousins.

Today news of the release of the two employees but no information has been gained on the whereabouts of the two Sikh men whom are still missing.
