READING, UK—On Sunday 17 November Rob Wilson, the Conservative Reading Member of Parliament, visited Singh Sabha Gurdwara on Cumberland Road to celebrate Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday with the Sikh community.

Rob said:

I am very grateful to the Sikh community in Reading for inviting me to participate in this sacred event and I send my best wishes to all those celebrating the birth of the first Guru. The life and teachings of Guru Nanak are still integral to Sikhism today, and I believe that everybody, regardless of faith, can learn something important from his philosophies of hard work, honest living and caring for others. These are key principles to which we in Britain should all try to adhere.
