SGPC seeks passports from the Sikhs tending to celebrate 551st Parkash Purab at Nankana Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has sought passports from the Sikhs aspirant of celebrating Guru Nanak Sahib’s 551st parkash purab at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan next month.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, SGPC’s spokesperson Kulwinder Singh Ramdas has informed that the aspirant Sikhs can submit their passports at SGPC’s headquarters in Amritsar by October 18.

“The aspirant Sikhs must also submit a recommendation letter from the SGPC member of their concerned constituency, a proof of identity and three passport size colored photographs along with their passports,” he said.  

He clarified that a photocopy of Aadhar Card or Voter Card or Ration Card can be enclosed as a proof of identity along with passports.

SGPC is making arrangements for the travel and accommodation of the Sikh yatris to Sri Nankana Sahib. This is an annual yatra that takes place every year and Sikhs from all over the world take part. For the Sikhs living in West Punjab and the rest of India, arrangements are made by the SGPC.
