SGPC announces to remorse for Baba Bir Singh’s unfortunate martyrdom on October 10

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee is going to mark the martyrdom of Shaheed Baba Bir Singh Naurangabad by observing his martyrdom day as a penitence day at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on October 10.

In 1844, the Sikh army had martyred Baba Bir Singh Naurangabad near Sabhrawan under a conspiracy orchestrated by the Dogras.

Sharing the development with media, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal informed that this incident has been scripted with black words in the Sikh history so it is necessary to remorse for it.

“Baba Bir Singh had constructed 365 Gurdwaras so that a Sikh devotee could spend a whole year while paying obeisance and partaking langar at one Gurdwara every day,” he said.

Meanwhile, several SGPC members have asked the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal to publicize Advocate Ishar Singh led probe committee’s full report about the missing 328 holy saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

However, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that there was no need to publicize the full report as the 10-page briefing of this report has brought forward every fact about the missing saroops.
