CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Controversial Ragi Balbir Singh passed away today during the wee hours. He took his last breath today at 03:30 am.
It is pertinent to note here that Ragi Balbir Singh did Kirtan Sewa at Sri Darbar Sahib for about 35 years and was conferred the award of Shiromani Ragi by the Akal Takht.
In 2015, his video bowing before an anti-Sikh cultist Ashutosh and using Gurbani verses to hail him had gone viral over social following which he had come under fire.
Later, the Akal Takht had imposed a ban on performing Kirtan Sewa by him. He was also addressed formal punishment by the Akal Takht for his sin.
