After uttering venomous statement against Kartarpur, DGP Dinkar Gupta says his statement misinterpreted and misrepresented

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Launching an abusive on recently opened historic corridor to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib, the Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta has said that Kartarpur provides a possibility that if you had sent some ordinary folks in the morning, they would return in the evening as trained terrorists. He said these words while speaking at the Indian Express Idea Exchange in Panchkula on February 21.

“The Sikh pilgrims have six hours to be there in Pakistan during which they can be taken to a firing range or can be taught to make an IED,” said Dinkar Gupta while claiming that the Pakistan government was trying to lure pilgrims and making advances to them.

Meanwhile, the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has strongly criticized DGP Dinkar Gupta’s venomous statement.

Giani Harpreet Singh, who is in Pakistan these days, has sought immediate suspension and legal action against Dinkar Gupta for hurting Sikh sentiments.

“I am now standing at Pakistan’s land and I didn’t get anything besides love and affection here. This is all propaganda against Pakistan and Sikh sangat should don’t care about it,” he added.  

Meanwhile, DGP Dinkar Gupta has said that his statement has been misinterpreted and misrepresented as he was speaking on possible threats from Pakistan.
