Pakistan police identifies 42 mobsters who pelted stones at Nankana Sahib

LAHORE, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee is going to send a four member delegation to Pakistan to get stock of the situation in Nankana Sahib after the painful incident of stone pelting at Gurdwara Sri Janam Asthan on January 3.

It is learnt that SGPC’s senior vice president Rajinder Singh Mehta, SGPC member Surjit Singh Bhittewind, Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh will be part of this delegation while Additional Manager of Sri Harmandir Sahib Rajinder Singh Ruby will coordinate them.

Sharing the development with media, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal informed that a letter has been written to the Pakistani ambassador in this concern and the delegation will depart after issuing of visas.

SGPC’s chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh today talked to Pakistani Punjab province’s governor Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar over telephone and he has ensured that the Pakistan government is committed to ensure safety of Sikhs.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the police have identified 42 mobsters who pelted stones at Gurdwara Sri Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib on January 3.

Sikh leaders in Pakistan are active to get all the mobsters booked under section 295-C of Pakistan Penal Code.
