485th birthday of Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji enthusiastically celebrated at Sri Harmandir Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The 485th birthday of fourth Sikh master Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji was celebrated with full enthusiasm at central Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib today. Lakhs of devotees paid obeisance inside the sanctum sanctorum and took a holy dip in the sacred sarovar seeking blessings of Guru Sahib.

A special manifestation of rare Sikh artifacts was organized inside sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib on this occasion.

A religious program was organized at Gurdwara Diwan Hall Sri Manji Sahib in which renowned Raagi, Dhadi and Kavishari jathas addressed the religious discourse to the present devotees following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.

A Kavi Darbar was also organized on this occasion in which renowned Sikh poets presented poetry shedding light on the life history of Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji.

Winner students of various religious programs organized at Gurdwara Sri Diwan Hall Manji Sahib were also honored on this occasion.

The SGPC also organized fireworks following recitation of Rehraas Sahib during the late evening hours.
