Manpreet Badal Speaks Out Against Other Badals

SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB—At a conference organized by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee at Sri Anandpur Sahib on March 23, former Finance Minister of Punjab, Manpreet Badal, said that if the Akali Dal succeeds in the upcoming assembly elections, it would be the death of Punjab. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh is the only person in Punjab who can save it from sinking into bankruptcy and drowning in drugs.

Manpreet said that Punjab has witnessed much devastation during the tenure of Chief Minister Parkash Badal.  He asked people of Punjab to differentiating between good and bad politicians and vote for those who will fight for the interests of Punjab.

Manpreet said that if brought into power, Congress would work as the ‘chonkidar’ of Punjabi people.  Manpreet also blamed his cousin Sukhbir for playing dirty politics.  Interesting, Capt. Amarinder Singh skipped the conference.

Manpreet Badal is the nephew of Chief Minister Parkash Badal. After being appointed as finance minister in 2007, he resigned in 2009, due to what he saw as the uncontrolled misuse of Punjab’s financial resources by Sukhbir Badal. Later, he began his own People’s Party of Punjab, which was unsuccessful in elections, and finally he moved to the Congress Party a few months back.

Like other political parties in Punjab, Congress held a conference at Sri Anandpur Sahib during Hola Mohalla.
