TARN TARAN, Punjab—Parting ways with its alliance partner Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Tarn Taran unit of Hindutva political force BJP has declared to oppose the SAD (B) candidate Ravinder Brahmpura in Khadoor Sahib by-poll which is slated to be held on February 13.
Rifts between SAD (B) and BJP have been existing since Raja Joshi, district vice-president and younger brother of Punjab local bodies minister Anil Joshi, and BJP workers ware allegedly thrashed and manhandled by the SAD (B) workers who were reportedly supported by Tarn Taran MLA Harmeet Sandhu, during municipal council elections on February 11, 2015.
The BJP leaders have been going furious over unjust behavior of the SAD (B) in Raja Joshi assault case. BJP district president Navreet Shafipur, said all the party leaders of the district would not only oppose the SAD (B) candidate, but also expose real characters of ‘Akalis’. “We will approach every voter of the Khadoor Sahib constituency to make him aware of the atrocities being committed by the SAD leaders,” he added.
He claimed that BJP has proper village-wise organizational structure and base in the Khadoor Sahib segment and they are able to leave deep impact electoral scene here.
Since the clash erupted, the Tarn Taran BJP leaders have been keeping distance from the SAD (B) leaders and staying away from their activities. On January 20, Sukhbir Badal conducted state-level meeting to assign duties to the SAD leaders for election campaign. BJP leaders from Tarn Taran also stayed away from this key meeting.
Both parties can continue fighting amongst themselves … hopefully die!!!

We have an Akali Ba-Dal candidate effectively called ‘Brahmin Pura’ (Brahmin totally, Brahmin full) and the BJP now feel confident enough to win seats on their own without their bedfellow (like a virus that has left one crippled host to strike out on its own) – looks to me either way the Hinduvta mafia wins as both candidates are their creatures.
