Tihar Jail Authorities Ban Bhai Hawara From Meeting Anyone

2014-06016Bhai-Jagtar-singh-hawara-450xNEW DELHI—Authorities of the Tihar jail have reportedly banned meeting of Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara.  As per sources, jail authorities have also refused to provide medical facilities anymore to him.  Bhai Hawara is serving life imprisonment in Beant “Singh” assassination case.

In an open letter sent to the Sikh nation, through lawyer Amar Singh Chahal, Bhai Hawara alleged that the authorities had started harassing him mentally since couple of weeks. He said a number of restrictions had been imposed on him by the authorities that violate his human rights.

“They also stopped giving medicine to me for pain of back bone. Those prisoners who used to share ‘Fateh’ with me, are being ill-treated”, he said.

Moreover, he made it clear that he accepted the post of Akal Takht Jathedar in order to unite all the Panthik organizations on a single platform.

Taking serious note of dismissal of Akal Takht’s Panj Piare, he said the move by the SGPC and SAD (B) was grave disrespect of the supreme Sikh institution founded by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He suggested the Panj Piare should take responsibility of Sarbat Khalsa called on Visakhi in April 2016. He also suggested a executive committee to organize Sarbat Khalsa.

Jathedar Hawara appealed Sikhs to make efforts to expose elements who committed sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib across the state, and end domination of Badal family on the SGPC. He also made appeal to Sikh intellectuals to stay away from the controversial issues.

Chahal told that they had to face many difficulties to be permitted for meeting with Bhai Hawara.

  1. No one in world should try to Crush or Destroy Sikhs.
Because Sikhs have the power of

    1) Chadi kala
    2) Phoenix
    3) Resurrection

    etc etc

The more any one kill us more we will grow.

    • It sounds like I am converting you to Sikhism. Now all you have to do is reject the RSS, misguided notions of deities and have the courage to use your own name. Believe me the fog will lift from your mind and you will never have to worry about meteors and the sun blowing up.

  2. Beant Singh (I use the last name very loosely) was ‘elected’ CM of Punjab with only 10% of eligible votes as majority of Sikh Panthic parties boycotted the elections and those that did vote gave power to the Congress Party which had sustained a state of terror within Punjab with which they were cynically then saying only they could deal with. As a consequence Beant ‘Singh’ can hardly be considered to have had a legitimate democratic mandate and his consequent actions of brutalising Sikh youth – the very fake encounters, false arrests, disappearances, extra judicial murders and mass disposal of Sikh bodies that one of his minions Gurpreet Pinky wishes to expose but is prevented form doing so by Indian courts – demonstrates he was certainly unworthy of such a position. So the question becomes if you cannot remove such a man by democratic means and you cannot hold to account his officers like Sumedh Saini and KPS Gill – a butcher of Punjab not seen since General Dyer earned that epithet – by legal means (the Punjab was effectively a police state no investigations or FIR’s were held and many officers rose higher in the ranks by killing Sikhs) then what choice is left but the last resort of self defence. That is the very argument that Bhagat Singh used in his trial. Even regardless of this he is entitled as a prisoner of the state (and arguably he is a political prisoner) at the very least to humane treatment and respect of his human rights under the law. Of course there are those who misguidedly think it is right for Sikh prisoners to be subjected to abuse, indignity and torture behind prison walls as that will somehow deter and cow Sikhs outside of those prison walls to ‘keep their heads down and stay silent’. The opposite effect is achieved as Sikhs feel a solidarity for a brother who has sacrificed his all for the sake of the kaum and can only further feel outrage at his continuing unjust treatment when killers of thousands of Sikhs like Sumedh Saini are free to walk the land.

  3. He is in a very dificult position.
Some thing similar to Bhagat Singh.
Mr Bhagat Singh was hanged for assaulting the British Empire.
He to has killed a elected CM of Punjab who is a indirect rep of Empire.
He is actually lucky by Empire standards.

    • If you are really interested in him communicating the ordeals / unjust abuses he is suffering then instead of a book give him unfettered access to his Sikh brothers. Let them visit with him, let them give him food, let them give him medication, let them talk with him in person, on the phone, on skype as well as print so we can adjudge how he is being treated / abused so we can institute change in the penal and judicial system.

  4. I agree .it is not easy for Individuals to fight states.
He should apply to court to write a book.

I have nothing to do with RSS.

    • One single individual inspires others – Udham Singh for example was very clearly inspired in his desire to be a martyr for India’s independence because of Bhagat Singh’s self sacrifice, both fought states and live now as the foremost patriots and serve to remind Sikhs today not to be fearful of losing their lives when their cause is just. And as Guru Gobind SIngh Ji teaches us one Sikh is worth Sava Lakh Se Ek Laraun Tahbi – that is why the Hinduvta mafia fears Sikhism and wishes to castrate it. And as for your claim ‘I have nothing to do with RSS’ you have openly declared support for it many times on this website – that taints you and the fact that you trying to deny is either the pricking of your conscience or pathetic attempt to mask your allegiances and hidden agenda (which as RSS would be to try and fool Sikhs reading this website that the RSS is a benign organisation whose Hinduvta views are somehow compatible with Sikh ethos when they are completely antithetical).

  5. It is a blatant attempt by Badal and his Hinduvta mafia supporters to stop Bhai Hawara from carrying out his Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar duties. Stop him from meeting other Sikhs and withdraw his medicine – don’t these apostates and philistines comprehend that inflicting greater suffering and indignities upon Sikhs only makes their sacrifices for the kaum that much more greater and exposes Indian ‘justice’ to even more disgrace? Even Bhagat Singh and Udham Singh were allowed to communicate with their fellow Sikhs and given access to medicine under British imprisonment – those foremost Indian patriots would be disgusted that the India they gave ultimate sacrifice to found is now doing the reverse to one of their own kinsmen.
